Snoop Dogg Being Sued for Sampling "Drop It Like It's Hot"

July 12, 2010 7:18 PM | Rap | Snoop Dog | Comments (0)

Michael Henderson filed suit against rapper Snoop Dogg of illegally sampling one of his songs. The "Drop It like It's Hot" hitmaker is alleged to have used parts of Henderson's "Riding" on the track "Flashbacks", which was featured on a 2008 mixtape.

Snoop Dogg went on to unlawfully incorporate his music on another song, titled "Hands on the Wheel", claimed Henderson. It was allegedly used to gain interest and increase ticket sales in the rap superstar's West Fest tour in June, 2008.

Several names have been included in the copyright infringement lawsuit, including Warzone's members, Goldie Loc, Kam and MC Eiht along with Snoop and his bosses at Universal Records.

Henderson is also suing for unfair competition and unjust enrichment. He wants that the case be heard in a trial by jury in Michigan and is seeking unspecified damages, reports AllHipHop.
