Prince's Album Leads to International Bidding Frenzy

July 13, 2010 9:40 PM | Prince | Comments (0)

prince_heat_shot.jpg It was reported that Prince’s album is given for free if you subscribe to a specific newspaper. Prince’s album giveaway via newspapers in Europe has led to an international bidding frenzy that has the product selling for more than $20 a pop on the Internet. Actually that is what he is really avoiding because he has no love for internet anymore.

He insisted that making deals with a newspaper company was the right move to prevent internet piracy and would cause him “no stress.” But hundreds of copies have gone on sale at various Web sites, attracting bids of more than $20.

One star who won’t be bidding on the record is Elton John – the Daily Mirror. He ordered five copies of the paper to be sent to his home on Saturday just to make sure he gets hold of the album.
