Prince Says the Internet is Completely Over

July 6, 2010 3:26 PM | Pop | Prince | Comments (0)

prince_heat_shot.jpg It seemed like yesterday Prince embraced things brought by the digital era to help promote his music. But his love for this innovation came to an end sooner than expected when he started to struggle to profit from his music offline. In 2007 Prince sued different websites for copyright infringement and started to ban fan sites as well.

Prince's new album will be released only on CD and he still refuses to allow websites to sell his music. “There will be no download anywhere in the world", he said. In fact, just like what he did before; he will release his album with a newspaper.
You’ll get a copy of the album if you are a newspaper subscriber.

He says, "The Internet's completely over. I don't see why I should give my new music to iTunes or anyone else. They won't pay me an advance for it and then they get angry when they can't get it.”

He added that the internet is like MTV; once hip then suddenly it became outdated, and computers and digital gadgets are no good.
