Outkast's Big Boi Goes Solo

July 9, 2010 1:57 PM | Big Boi | Rap | Comments (0)

"Southernplayalisticadillacmuzik", Outkast’s album debuted sixteen years ago.  Antwan "Big Boi" Patton and his partner-in-rhyme, Andre "3000" Benjamin, are a part of this rap group that made Southern hip hop well known.

"Speakerboxxx/The Love Below", their biggest commercial and critical hit was released in 2003.  However, despite the mark they have made in hip-hop, Big Boi finds himself in a unique difficult situation; as one-half of a legendary duo who has had success he so far hasn’t had much success as a solo artist.  Big Boi plans on changing this.

Sir Lucious Left Foot: The Son of Chico Dusty is Big Boi's rap opus that he hopes will be a reintroduction to the self-proclaimed "funk crusader."
