Eminem's "Recovery" Top Charts

July 8, 2010 6:03 PM | Eminem | Rap | Comments (1)

Eminem's "Recovery" top charts with 741,000 copies, the largest sales week for a single album since October 2008 setting aside releases from Drake, Miley Cyrus, Ozzy Osbourne and The Roots. New release from Miley Cyrus, “Can’t Be Tamed”, sold 102,000 copies, and last week’s top-seller, Drake’s “Thank Me Later (Aspire/Young Money/Cash Money) with sales of 157,000.

Eminem naturally is a chart-topper. Backed by Dr Dre’s Aftermath/Interscope it’s Em’s sixth straight No. 1 debut. His 1999 debut, the Slim Shady LP is the only album not open at No. 1, which landed at No. 2 instead. Eminem has the most No. 1 albums as far as hip-hop acts goes.

He is always been versatile. After Em returned last year following his five-year hiatus, the biggest question was who would still buy his music. Now with “Recovery”, he’s perfectly fit to be back in the game.
