Chris Brown Turns Himself into Police

February 9, 2009 12:06 PM | Chris Brown | R&B | Comments (1)

R&B singer Chris Brown turned himself in to the Los Angeles Police Department on Sunday evening.  This happened after authorities began investigations into an alleged felony battery between Brown and an unidentified woman.  He was booked and released on $50,000 bail. He has been charged with violence felony battery.

In a press release, the LAPD stated that Brown and a woman were in a vehicle in the Hancock Park neighborhood just after midnight on Sunday when an argument began.  They allegedly exited the car and the argument became physical.  According to the statement, LAPD received a 911 call, and when officers arrived they found the victim, who had suffered visible injuries and claimed her attacker was Chris Brown.  Brown had already left the scene.

Many suspect the woman is fellow R&B singer, Rihanna, especially since Brown and Rihanna both cancelled their appearances at the Grammy Awards on Sunday.  This is just speculation, however, as the LAPD will not release the accusers name.

There have been numerous reports stating both Chris Brown and Rihanna were involved in a car accident, and one of Rihanna’s reps, when asked for comment by MTV News, simply stated “Rihanna is well.  Thank you for the care and support.”

Chris Brown is known for chart-topping hits such as “Run It” and “Yo (Excuse Me Miss)”, while Rihanna is well known for her super singles “Umbrella” and “Disturbia.”
