Bill Cosby Releasing Rap Album Next Month

April 16, 2008 7:40 PM | Interesting Stuff | Comments (1)

Ok, is this a joke?  Bill Cosby will be releasing a rap album titled "Cosby Narratives Vol. 1: State of Emergency."  Bill Cosby wants to be a rapper.  Ok Bill we get the message, you don't have to rap to us about it. According to the Associated Press, the 70-year-old tv/movie-star/comedian and outspoken opponent of profanity-laced, misogynistic rap has put together an effort that blends his concepts and stories with a hip-hop, pop and jazz soundtrack.

Bill telling the Associated Press, his album is "the opposite of what I think is the profanity for no particular reason, the misogyny for no particular reason....It really looks at the frustration and the anger that a young man may have...I do not rap on any of these things. I wouldn't know how to fix my mouth to say some of the words."

Bill as stated that the subject matter is "The value of an education. The value of respecting one's self and ... giving (listeners) a chance to raise their self-esteem and confidence."

Bill Cosby dropping a hip hop album? I love it. However I’m very disapointed in hearing that Bill actually won’t rap on the album himself and is instead enlisting no name emcees. One of my fellow bloggers over on Highbrid Nation reported on Bill’s album and I decided to make a plea in the comments section to Bill to let me ghost write for him and I even wrote some rhymes for Bill. Funny stuff, check it out when you get a chance (Link)

But anyway, I ain’t mad at Bill, he comes across as an angry old man but a lot of what he says is wrong in the inner city is very on point.
