Remy Ma Found Guilty, Faces Up to 25 Years in Prison

Remy Ma (A.K.A. Remy Smith) is on her way to doing some serious time in prision.  The Bronx rapper cried tears last Thursday after she was found guilty on all four charges of assault in state Supreme Court in Manhattan. She was convicted on two counts of first-degree assault, attempted coercion, and criminal possession of a weapon in the shooting of Makeda Barnes Joseph outside a night club last summer.

 

T.I. Pleads Guilty toFederal Weapons Possession Charges

T.I. (A.K.A. Clifford Harris) has pleaded guilty to federal weapons possession charges and will spend one year doing community service while awaiting a sentence that includes prison time. The 27-year-old rapper pleaded guilty to possession of an unregistered firearm, possession of machine guns and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.   

 

Snoop Dogg Goes "Ego Trippin"' for VH1 Storytellers

Snoop Dogg had the audience on their feet as he taped an episode of "VH1 storytellers" March 13 at Steiner Studios in Brooklyn. Fans can watch this exclusive performance when "VH1 Storytellers: Snoop Dogg" premieres Monday, March 31 at 10PM on VH1 and is simulcast on VH1 Soul and MHD: Music High Definition. The full show will also be available online at Storytellers.VH1.com on Monday, March 31 at 10PM.

 

George Michael Announces North American Tour

After performing 80 shows in 12 European countries for a staggering 1.3 million fans over the past year alone, legendary superstar George Michael will be bringing his smash 25 LIVE tour to North American Arenas in the summer of 2008 in support of his new retrospective record. This will be Michael's first North American tour in 17 years.  

 

Busta Rhymes Gets Three Years Probation

Busta Rhymes was sentenced to three years of probation for two separate assaults in 2006. Busta (A.K.A. Trevor Smith) dropped his innocent plea last January to avoid a trial and a one-year prison stay. Busta pleaded guilty to assault, two driving infractions and weapons possession and began serving his sentence on Tuesday. In December 2006 Busta was charged with beating up his chauffeur, and an August 2006 incident in which he attacked a fan that spat on his car.

 

Cocoa Tea & Mighty Sparrow Release Songs to Support Obama

The Caribbean people are also giving props to presidential hopeful Senator Barack Obama.  Reggae/dancehall superstar Cocoa Tea (A.K.A. Calvin Scott) has recorded a song dedicated to Obama titled "Barack Obama". While Trinidadian calypso superstar Mighty Sparrow has a song out called "Barack the Magnificent".  (See Videos)

Janet Jackson new album titled "Feedback" is the number one album in the country. This is her first time in almost seven years. The CD is Janet's 6th Billboard 200 chart topper and her first No. 1 since 2001's "All For You." "Feedback" is also her first project with Island Def Jam.
