Blues Legend B.B. King Hospitalized in Texas

Legendary Blues Singer B.B. King was hospitalized for a low grade fever which was followed by the flu, however, he is in good condition. Mr. King is 81-year-old and is expected to be discharged Saturday and is expected to perform next Tuesday in Fort Worth.

B.B. King had been scheduled to perform Thursday at the Grand Opera House, but he was admitted to The University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston instead.

Mr. King has a history of diabetes and on antibiotics for a 100-degree fever. As a precaution he was hospitalization because of his age so he can be monitored. B.B. King was born on a plantation in Itta Bena, Miss., where he started out on street corners playing for donations, according to his Web site. He went on to become one of the nation's most influential blues musicians. Last, President Bush awarded B.B. King the Presidential Medal of Freedom for his musical contributions. You think he'd take it easy and retire!
