Reggae music has run in Andray's blood all his life. He was born and raised in St. Mary Jamaica for part of his life, before moving to Brooklyn, NYC and living there.
Andray was greatly influenced by such Artists as Buju Banton and Tiger. Andray Dewayne Parsons, also known as, and goes by "S Dray Donz", remembers in his young youth the musical inspirations these artists were recording. He remembers the latest rhythms off the popular radio stations in Jamaica and at that time, he had no idea that he would be pursuing what he’s doing now. But a lot of people saw in Andray the passion he had for music. " Buju was my favorite artist growing up. I still reminisce about my childhood, singing to his songs, trying with all the strength in my voice to sound as good as he is."
After a long road of reggae music and three years that went by, Andray turned to and fell in love with Hip Hop.
Hip Hop was that one beat or tight lyric that held on to you, and made you connect with it. It didn't take long for Andray to start free styling and run with it. Trying out his lyrics to inspirations such as Tupac and B.I.G. who have sold to millions and more in the late times they rained and then on. Andray was reluctant to meet and work with a fellow Reggae/Hip Hop artist who he became very tight with. "I've learned a lot from him and ever since, I've been improving the music I do."
Although Andray is an unsigned artist for now……
He's very much independent and has his own label "Shotta Life Records", which he's signed under. He's also done dubs for sound crews around the Greater Toronto Area and you can hit him up on "BET.Com" in the “Yaheard” section.
This is just the beginning of more to come from this talented and bright artist!
